THE AUTHOR BEHIND THE SERIES

JASON
HARRIS

Grounded military fiction.
Character-driven science fiction.
Rooted in Idaho.

AFTER THE SHELTER DOORS OPEN.

What happens after people emerge from a fallout shelter?

That question became the starting point for The Clay Moore Series. Jason Harris is an Idaho-based writer whose work focuses on grounded military fiction and character-driven science fiction.

The idea began in 2015 during an uneventful graveyard shift in corporate security. While reading the Lorien Legacies series, Jason started imagining a story of his own. With help from his friend Danni, he developed a post-apocalyptic world in the Idaho mountains near Hells Canyon Reservoir.

Idaho gave the story its terrain. Jason used maps to explore the landscape and work out where people might settle, travel, and rebuild. The early project was called The Rise. Over time, it became Rise From the Ashes and the story of Clay Moore, Ranger, and a community trying to survive together.

LIFE BEYOND THE PAGE.

Jason works as a facilities manager and owns Hull Down Apparel. He enjoys spending time with his family and continues developing future installments of The Clay Moore Series.

Rise From the Ashes, published by Crater Rim Press, is the first book in the series.
